To get a real clean install, I setup a new Domino 8 server, removed my R7 roaming files and moved my account to that new server. Then I did a new clean install of Notes 8 and tried to configure Notes.
Each time the configuration ended in NSD.
Same happend to my colleague.
We found out that the Setup policy caused the clients to crash during configuration. While the client was trying to add local replicas and bookmarks from other R7 servers it always crashed.
Without policy we were able to configure notes, then we enabled the policy again.
Notes applied parts of the desktop policy except:
- create local mailfile replica was ignored
- Instant messaging server was not enabled
- Bookmarks have not been added to the Open button.
